I’ll be back…

The hiatus bug travels around the world and returns to roost here. Why it chose this blog, I do not know. But arrive it did, quietly!… and somehow I’m thankful it did.

Assurances first! (for those who care enough for them, anyways!) This is not a notice for my blog to R.I.P.. This is neither an indication of my dis-enchantment with blogging or a sign of exhaustion of my enthusiasm for blogging!

I’m going off on a hiatus for the remainder of this year. The activity, though, will continue in the background as major changes are effected here.

I took another quiz! This was not like the other foolish and inane quizzes that we take normally. It was The Ecological Footprint Quiz 2002. Here’s what it was all about…

And the result was quite interesting. It seems my Ecological Footprint is 1.6 Global Hectares!! Now they have calculated that currently, worldwide, there exists 1.8 biologically productive Global Hectares per person. So, going by that account, I am within the world average and so I pose very little threat to the world’s ecosystem!

But, the average figures for India indicate that Indians, on an average, posses an ecological footprint of 0.8 Global Hectares per person. So, going by that number, I’m a glutton as far as my consumption of ecological resources, in the National context, are concerned!! … Bad Boy!!!

So, go ahead, measure your footprint and be ecologically aware!!

Being Green is cool!

Nilesh has unveiled hum*blog, the webhome for India blogs and bloggers. The design of the site looks very nice and the features that would be included on hum*blog sound great! I hope this effort turns into a success and hum*blog truly becomes the home of Indian blogsphere!

By the way, doesn’t hum*blog have a very quintessential Indian ring to it?! … I like it!!

IOC agrees to drop doping charges against Sunita Rani

Middle distance runner Sunita Rani has been cleared of doping charges by the International Olympic Committee’s Medical Commission, which struck down the tests during the Asian Games in October.

Hurray!! … That’s a good news!!

Bush named Yahoo person of the year.

US President George W Bush has been named as the Yahoo! person of the year in a year-end poll conducted by the global internet provider.
Musician and actor Eminem and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan were placed at second and third place respectively.
While Bush bagged 36.2 per cent votes Eminem was way behind with only 12.2 per cent votes and Annan got only 9.6 per cent votes.
