As I was just reading Amit Varma’s take on the relevance of the term “Glued to the crease” with respect to Virender Sehwag, I was reminded of a term that the Pakistani opener Salman Butt used in an interview today morning.

As a ’steady’ drizzle in Chandigarh steadily poured water over enthusiasm all over the country, the commentators analysed Day 1 to death. In the midst of all the analysis, Ravi Shastri interviewed Pakistani opener, Salman Butt. The young batsman was critical of his own self as he blamed his poor footwork for his dismissal. He said that the ball did nothing special (Irfan Pathan might have other ideas about that, though). He went on to say that his feet were in the toilet when he played the shot that got him out.

Eh?!

Butt on the ground and feet in the toilet! … no wonder he was clean bowled then!!
