Rocky shores…
Jagged rocks line the beach at Marloes Sands. Marloes Sands, in Wales, is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve been to.
Where it’s not rocky, the beach is sandy (thankfully!) and quite flat… which means it’s quite safe to enter the water without the threat of suddenly finding yourself in deep water!

Evening Silhouettes
The evening sky over Mumbai takes on vivid hues as wisps of dark clouds float beneath lighter clouds lit up brilliantly by the setting sun… while the azure blue shades of the day recede in the advancing twilight. And the skyline stands silhouetted… dark and drab man-made structures etched against the colorful revelry of nature…
This was clicked during the 2006 monsoon season, when the evening skies are at their best. It lay around in the camera as I had forgotten all about it. As I cleaned out my CF card yesterday, I saw it and decided to upload it after some basic photoshop tweaks.

Clarke Quay @ Singapore
The colorfully lit Clarke Quay in Singapore. It’s one of the most favored watering holes in Singapore as far as the nightlife is concerned. The assortment of restaurants from fine dining and world cuisine to the racy “Hooters” presents the onlooker with a difficult decision to make!
And of course, a clutch of nightclubs, led by the humongous Ministry of Sound, contribute a lot to the draw of this place.
If you’re going to be in Singapore, make sure you give this place a go… after the sun sets, of course! :-D

White Tiger @ Singapore Zoo
One of the three majestic white tigers, at the famous Singapore Zoo, wades through the pool to cool off on a warm and humid day.
It was the feeling of awe that I experienced when I saw these tigers at the Singapore Zoo when I was in Singapore last week on a vacation. Being a model of the “open zoo” concept, one can see these majestic animals move around in large “natural” areas… as opposed to seeing weakened animals lie listlessly in cramped cages in older zoos like the one in Mumbai.
But I’ve been reading news that there are plans afoot to convert Mumbai Zoo into an open zoo based on the Singapore model. Now that’s an idea whose time has come!

Invisibility cloak and other links
A round-up of a few interesting links I’ve encountered recently…
Here’s a collection of some highly creative Ads from the world over. My favourite is the steaming coffee-cup manhole cover! And there’s one ad from Mumbai too!!
How do you like your food? Not like this, I bet! ;-)
Scientists are one step closer to creating a working Invisibility Cloak. It’s a pity, however, that this attempt is to achieve invisibility from radar, and not in the visible spectrum. But I remember an article about ‘invisibility’ techniques that appeared in ‘Wired’ around three years ago. Do read it… it’s quite fascinating! Here’s the link.
Have you ever seen an 8.6 Gigapixel image? that’s right… 8.6 Gigapixels!! Here it is… ‘probably’ the biggest digital image in the world!! Be patient while the webpage loads up though!
And to round up today’s list of links… here’s George W. Bush admitting on television that he uses “the Google”!!
