XFN 1.1 profile released

I just noted via Eric Meyer that the folks over at GMPG have just published the XFN 1.1 profile.

For those who do not know, XFN stands for XHTML Friends Network. It provides for a easy way to attribute relationships to hyperlinks. By simply adding an additional attribute to the hyperlink, relationships between people/sites/blogs can be indicated on the web. As such, it paves the way towards a more human web.

The XFN 1.1 profile has three authors, Eric Meyer, Tantek Çelik and Matthew Mullenweg. While Eric and Tantek have published the news (about XFN 1.1), I wonder why Matt hasn’t done so yet (at least by the time of publishing of this post).

All’s not well in the Indian Silicon Valley

Has the Bangalore party ended? Well, Infy does not seem to think so. It plans to build a new 300 acre campus in the city. But warns that it would not go ahead with those plans if land was not made available to them.

Meanwhile, outsourced work continues to pour into Bangalore.

Browser recognition

How difficult, I mean how difficult is it for a webpage to recognize the browser that is referring to it!!

And yet… we have websites that do a half-baked job of recognizing the browser and worse still… deny access to that page citing browser incompatibility!

Half knowledge, they say, is dangerous!

Kensington (un)locks

Just when I was contemplating getting a Kensington lock for my laptop, they say it isn’t secure after all and can be cracked within 30 seconds using a ball-point pen and a pair of scissors!
